The work on the property is going well. We have cultivated the beds in the garden and covered them awaiting planting in the spring. The same applies to the planter that goes along the back of the patio. Hard work but I think it will be worth it. We are arranging for someone from the local garden center to come in and advise us on not only on what will grow well (everything seems to grow real well here) but also what is typical of Pembrokeshire.
The work on the downstairs of the house has started and is moving on at a pace. We have more heaters going in to extend the season. Both downstairs bedrooms, the lounge and the dinning room have had a major make over and next on the agenda is the new front door which is ready to be fitted. As we have not really had a winter yet so having no heaters in the house during the fit-out has not been an issue but thank god for the wood burner on the days when it has been cold.
We have also changed letting agents and are now with Sykes Cottages. This seems to be going okay and we are starting to get our first bookings from them.
For those of you who wrote so much about the birds in the visitors book last year, you will be pleased to hear that we are feeding the birds through the winter. I think from the amount of birds of all sorts in the garden and the speed they are emptying our feeders we might well be feeding the whole garden bird population of Dale! In the front of the house the Egret from the Gan Estuary is now often seen wadding but mainly when the Swans aren’t about.
